Rotary V8...? So like, two 4-rotor engine sharing the same output shaft at a V-angle? Or do you just mean an 8-rotor engine?

Personally, I'd like to see someone do a quad-turbo 4-rotor, each rotor with its own intake, exhaust, downpipe, etc. all optimized for a particular RPM. That would be like having a 5.2l engine at 9000 rpm with 4 turbos.
